Sarasota Style at Altiora combines health, safety, and love of freedom. Of course, we would be remiss if we neglected to express our wishes for your fabulous Happy July 4! As our yearly custom, Dr. Orlando Cicilioni and his health professionals at Altiora Plastic Surgery & Med Spa wish a happy, healthy and safe July 4 to you and your family!
Sarasota Style: Thoughts on Freedom
As we begin this blog, we thought you’d appreciate a couple of amazing quotes about freedom:
You see, here in Sarasota, July 4 often brings us so much fun with picnics, parties and beach celebrations that we forget what “Independence Day” means. We have discovered that America, like the elusive perception of beauty, is very individualized to different people.
July 4, 2019, and Shameless Patriotism
On the one hand, for John Wayne, July 4 style meant, “Sure I wave the American flag! Do you know a better flag to wave? Sure I love my country with all her faults. I’m not ashamed of that, never have been, never will be.”
Now that is a philosophy that is difficult to fault. On the other hand, we have to agree with Oprah Winfrey. She stated, “The great courageous act that we must all do, is to have the courage to step out of our history and past so that we can live our dreams. But we don’t look past all of our history; some very good men shaped it.”
What wonderful, powerful words from two such different Icons of modern America!
Sarasota Style: Freedom, Health and Beauty
It seems appropriate to mention that at Altiora you find our board-certified surgeon, Dr. Cicilioni and his staff, respect and guard the health of our clients. It is also appropriate to mention that Dr. Cicilioni has expertise in several specialized areas. These are areas in which the average “cosmetic surgeon” does not perform, and board-certified plastic surgeons do.
It was writer Edward Griffin who stated, “Life is hollow without health and freedom. To seek one without the other is folly.” So, even as we celebrate our freedom, not just on July 4, but every day, we know we must be mindful of our health. This means we make good choices about everything we do for our bodies: The food we select, the drinks we pick, and the doctors we choose.
At Altiora, Dr. Cicilioni is a board-certified plastic surgeon. This means he is certified to perform procedures for the entire face and body. Then, he also performs all types of reconstructive surgery which involves the restoration of almost any body part that is abnormal due to a trauma/accident, cancer or birth defect…” And this brings up an important point we’d like to make as we celebrate freedom. Women have the right to know their options for reconstruction after cancer.
Style and Feeling Confident Again after Breast Reconstruction
Among other cases, we see the freedom brought by this reconstructive surgery. It shines out of the eyes of our patients who have reclaimed their lives—and their breasts—after breast cancer.
We see their freedom of self-confidence restored. Therefore, we honor them especially in this blog today, in celebration of their courage. Never before in the history of the human race has reconstructive surgery been more accessible. And never before has it been as available and technically precise as it is today.
Freedom of Choice for Your Individual Beauty:
Likewise, women of today have the freedom to choose accessible, available and even minimally invasive procedures. Thus, this type of surgery is termed cosmetic surgery.
It means the “aesthetic enhancement of the body or re-shaping normal tissue to improve appearance.” Today’s Sarasota style woman can choose her look from so many options. She need not conform to any stereotype of how she should look. Today’s woman can express her inner self with her choices in aesthetic surgery.
Beautiful Choices for Independent Expression of Beauty:
Frederich Schiller said, “Grace is the beauty of form under the influence of freedom.” In our society, full lips, full breasts, and smooth tummies are not exclusively available to the movie stars. Additionally, they are available to the mom who lives next door. And many of our clients in professions, like the lawyer, banker, and business owner, utilize surgical enhancements. It is their secret to their individual beauty and confidence. Thus, they can maintain their professional image.
What is vitally important to us is that with all the options available, Altiora once again cautions you to choose a board-certified plastic surgeon for any aesthetic or reconstructive surgery or procedure you are considering. We feel compelled to remind you that only a board-certified member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, is validated by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
What You Need to Know about Board-Certified Surgeon
When you choose a Board-Certified Surgeon, you want you to know his training includes:
…at least 5 years of surgical training
…with at least two years of training in all plastic surgery techniques, including breast, body, face, and reconstruction.
Strict Code of Ethics
Likewise, as part of his certification, Dr. Cicilioni commits to a strict, special code of ethics. You see, board-certified plastic surgeons operate only in accredited medical facilities. And he continues medical education requirements with stringent classes, updates, workshops. Additionally, he is also enrolled in studies in the technology, techniques, and innovations of this constantly evolving field of medicine.
Yes, here at Altiora, we hope you celebrate your Independence Day with a commitment to your personal expression of beauty and health. But we also hope you celebrate the coming holiday with a healthy responsibility to yourself.
If, in the future, your celebration of self includes surgical or non-surgical plastic or aesthetic procedures, please make a responsible choice. Choose a board-certified plastic surgeon like Dr. Orlando Cicilioni. We are here to help you celebrate your sense of self, beauty and confident style with health, beauty, and safety.
