Dr. Cicilioni will be leading a missionary trip for the Florida Hospital Shares Foundation to Vera Cruz, Mexico from April 17th – 24th, 2010.  The purpose of the campaign is to perform cleft lip and palate surgery on the underprivileged children there.  “Shares” brings a team of doctors, nurses, scrub technicians and all the supplies necessary to perform these operations free of charge.  They partner with local physicians in Mexico to ensure the children have proper medical follow up.  This will be Dr. Cicilioni’s 11th mission trip with the foundation, and his 5th trip to the city of Vera Cruz.  Typically, the organization will operate on about 45 to 50 patients during the course of the week.

The “Shares” International Foundation is a non-profit organization established by Florida Hospital that organizes numerous medical, surgical and physical therapy missionary trips each year to foreign countries to help children in need, who lack access to proper medical care either due to financial need or who live in areas underserved by sufficient medical expertise.  To learn more about the foundation, or to make a donation, please visit the “Shares” International Website.
