As we grow older, both women and men become concerned with drooping skin and wrinkles in the forehead area. A browlift might be the best surgical process to consider if you are bothered by this problem. We are also now being contacted by more younger patients who may also be good candidates for a browlift due to inherited low brows or environmental effects of the sun. Along with browlift surgery the patient may also consider a lifestyle facelift (Rhytidectomy) or other facial procedures to be done in conjunction with the browlift surgery. There are several methods to perform this surgery.

The Endoscopic Browlift:

Doctor Cicilioni will make a few small incisions in the scalp. He will then insert a scope (small camera) and look at the tissues and muscles from a screen. At the same time, he will use another mechanism inserted in another incision to make the required maneuvers to improve the look of the forehead and lift it to provide a more youthful look. The scar will be obscure and hidden in the hairline. If he is operating on a male (with balding) noted, he would make the incision at mid-scalp to hide the scaring in the hair line. The endoscopic browlift is less invasive, takes less time to heal so that you can return to your normal activites sooner than choosing another method

Temporal Browlift:

A temporal browlift involves a continuous incision in the hair line above the lateral brow. The incisions in a temporal browlift are usually larger than those of an endoscopic browlift. Once the incision has been made, the skin is then loosened so that the brow can be elevated and the crow’s feet reduced. Following that procedure, the tissues below the brow are then tightened by gently pulling the deeper tissues and removing skin if needed. When the procedure is completed, the scar is usually invisible.

Open Browlift: Those patients having a sagging brow with a very high forehead may do best by choosing an “open browlift”. The surgeon would make an incision right along the hairline or just behind the first few hairs. The incision is sometimes beveled or angled to allow hair to grow through the incision for fair skinned patients.

To determine the right browlift procedure, you should consult with the Orlando Cosmetic Surgery, LLC office.

The browlift procedure will cosmetically correct the frown lines and wrinkles in the forehead, upper eyelids, and eyebrows. You will appear younger and have a more rested appearance.
