Happy Dad’s Day ! Father’s Day is here, and we’re making it last all week with a salute to both Dads and the other Father-Figures in our lives.
A Dad’s Day Tribute
We of Altiora Plastic Surgery & Medspa at St. Armands Circle in Sarasota give praise to the Dads and father figures in our lives. Altiora Plastic Surgery & Medspa celebrates them in this special blog.
Let us begin our tribute with one of our favorite anonymous sayings about a good Dad, “A father is neither an anchor to hold us back nor a sail to take us there, but a guiding light whose love shows us the way.”
And we all know the heart-warming commentary, “Anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a Dad.” Likewise, we appreciate the words of Antoine-François Prévost, who wrote,
“The heart of a father is the masterpiece of nature.”
Last year we were proud to announce that “Behind Every Wonder Woman is a Super Dad!” Sunday June 17th we celebrate that point all day and, as we just said, all through the coming week.
Here in Sarasota, Florida, we are striving to show the men in our lives a little extra gratitude. Of course, On Father’s Day, and all summer long here, families and Dads will be celebrating Father’s Day and other summer weekends in the bright Sarasota Sun. We will be on the beaches, parks and in our own backyards, and exposed to the dangerous rays of the sun.
Our Sarasota Summer Mission Kicks Off On Dad’s Day
Last year we asked each of you to be a Wonder Woman by protecting your Dad’s skin, and the skin of all the men you love in your life! We are making a super effort by asking this of you again, and we are kicking off our campaign to Save Dad’s Skin this Dad’s Day Week-end.
Note to Wonder-Women Everywhere: Save Dad’s Skin.
For Dad’s skin, on Dad’s Day and every Day we have a thought provoking message: Father’s Day and every day means melanoma danger from the harmful rays of the sun. Now we understand that life is Sarasota summer life is busy, and with all that is going on, it is easy to forget about skin protection.
Facts About Father’s Skin on Dad’s Day and Every Day
- We have gathered facts about masculine skin over the years, and they are still shocking to us.
- Did you know male skin cells are actually more fragile, and less protected than female skin cells?
- We know sun damage ignites skin cancer. Dr. Tatiana M. Oberyszyn, assistant professor of pathology at Ohio State University in Columbus warns us:
- “It’s well known that men are more likely to get skin cancer than women are.”
- Men get twice the overall number of skin cancers and three times more squamous cell carcinomas than women do…”
- Altiora’s excellent sunscreen, Melanin Shade will save Dad’s skin now, and later.
Our mission for the summer, is to protect our men from the harmful rays of the sun. All we need to do is to remind dad, grandad, uncle, brother and all the men in our lives to use sunscreen for super power protection from the rays of the sun. Sunscreen will give the men in our lives the super power of protection from the villainous rays of the sun.
We would be remiss if we did not invite you to stop by Altiora Plastic Surgery and Med Spa at St.Albans Circle, Sarasota, and discover more information about the effects of sun on skin. In our sea-sun-and-shore environment, we need to remember the vital importance of sunscreen in our fight against melanoma and other skin cancers. And while we are at it, we must also protect our lovely, luscious lips against summer chapping, the better to kiss father’s dear old cheek on Father’s Day, and every day.
