Augmentation Procedure
Breast augmentation is one of the most rewarding procedures for a surgeon to perform. The female breast is often considered by society to be one of the central aspects of a woman’s femininity.
I truly enjoy helping my patients to achieve the desired look they have sought for so long to attain. My clients come to me for many different reasons, and many have thought about surgery for quite a long time. Often, patients even come to my practice from other states and countries. A number have been celebrities. But at our practice, we consider all of our patients to be V.I.P.’s.
Reasons why women choose to undergo breast augmentation or mastopexy vary. Some are seeking a fuller appearance to their breast, looking to me to give them what Mother Nature simply did not.
Others come after having been through pregnancy, disappointed with post-partum breast atrophy, and wish to be restored to the full-figured appearance they once had. Some women present with abnormal breast shapes and severe asymmetry of breast size that they have been born with that make it difficult to find clothing to fit properly.
While other patients have begun to experience the effects of aging, wherein their breasts begin to show signs of ptosis (droop). For those patients with minimal ptosis, a Breast Enlargement often gives the desired degree of breast lift to correct their problem. Others, with major degrees of ptosis or asymmetry, may also have a Mastopexy (Breast Lift) done in conjunction with their Breast Augmentation.
Plastic, Reconstructive, and General Surgery
Since I am board certified both in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as General Surgery, I have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the breast.
I routinely perform all types of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast, including Augmentation, Mastopexy (Breast Lift), Breast Implant Exchange for aged implants, Correction of Breast Deformities,
Breast Reduction, and Breast Reconstruction after mastectomy for cancer. We offer saline implants, silicone implants, and even cohesive, anatomically shaped, silicone gel breast implants. Women have long favored silicone breast implants because they tend to feel and look more natural.
My office has been a participating research center for both the adjunct studies of silicone gel breast implants of the Allergan and Mentor Corporations, as well as the Post Approval Studies of Mentor. It was quite gratifying in 2006 to see that the FDA once again approved the usage of silicone gel beast implants based on the results of these research studies.
I give my patients a thorough explanation of what surgery involves and give them choices as to the type, shape, and size of the breast implants that would be best for them, as well as the surgical approaches that can be used for placement (such as: crease, axillary, or periareolar incisions and submuscular or subglandular placement). Each patient is different, and I help guide each individual patient personally though the decision process to help her decide which is right for her, in order to achieve a long-lasting and natural appearing result.
I generally perform these surgeries in accredited outpatient hospital facilities, to ensure operating room sterility, excellent anesthesia, and most importantly, patient safety and comfort. The privacy of my patient is extremely important and kept confidential.
Patient Relationship
Our relationship does not end after the surgery. My highly trained staff and I follow my patients during the healing process to make sure they have achieved the best possible results in regards to shape, size, appearance, softness, and scar fading techniques. In summary,
I perform all aspects of aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery. I consider each patient and their needs individually, and I help guide them as to which procedures and types of implants will work best to help them achieve their desired results. I am very conscientious and take great pride in my work, to provide you with the best level of medical care.
