When it comes to popular procedures such as Botox ® and Latisse®, our staff at Orlando Cosmetic Surgery, LLC take our responsibility seriously.  For the safety of our patients, we inform them not just about the great results gained by using these two products, but also the possible side effects as well.

More and more boutiques” and other physician’s offices to include dentists, are beginning to offer Botox® & Latisse® to produce revenue simply because these medicines are popular and are sought after by the public.

It has now become clear to all of us that many patients sign up based upon advertising claims rather than the facts about each product.

Many of these places of business fail to mention any and all side effects which may be expereinced by patients.  Please read this recent article published by the National Post.

Before administering either product, we meet with our patient to discuss the advantages and all possible side effects.  Both products, when used correctly are relatively safe and may be considered for several issues.

Latisse® is a drug which (when used properly) will increase the length of eye lashes, helping to make them longer, thicker and darker.  Many women experience thinning of the eye lashes over time and this procedure has gained popularity over the past two years.  Many of our patients have found great results using this product.  Visit the website to learn more.

As it is described on the Botox ® Cosmetic website, Botox® is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in people 18 to 65 years of age for a short period of time (temporary).  Visit their official website for more information.

It is our opinion that both Botox® and Latisse® should be used only in a physician’s office and administered by a professional trained and skilled, working with a licensed Cosmetic Surgeon or by the Cosmetic Surgeon.   Both Botox ® and Latisse®, require a prescription, based upon the possibility of side effects. In a very few cases, Botox® can trigger headaches, nausea and other side effects,  while Latisse® has been known to cause discolored skin around the eyes or changes in the colour of the iris.  All side effects should be discussed before you consider either procedure.

Your safety is our highest priority. The more you know about any cosmetic procedure can also help to dispell any misconceptions you may have held about the procedure. If you are considering either of these procedures, please complete our “Get Info” form and a staff member will call you to set up a consultation to discuss the procedure of your choice.
